Joseph Raines

Joseph Raines, Managing Director, Community Housing Capital, has more than 30 years of experience in the financial industry. He has spent more than two decades in Commercial Real Estate lending and affordable housing experience, primarily with LIHTC transactions, both debt and equity. He comes to UBCD from Regions Bank, where he spent 17 years as Senior Vice President and Head of Operations for Regions’ Community Investment Capital business segment. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Marketing from Jacksonville State University and his MBA from the University of Alabama-Birmingham. He and his wife live in Birmingham and have two daughters who are currently in college. They are members of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church. Joe is a member of the Loan Committee for Partners for the Common Good, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit providing crucial funding to community development efforts across the U.S. He is also a swim official for high school, NCAA, and USA Swimming.
