Brian leads national policy and advocacy directed to Congress, the executive branch, and regulatory agencies, as well as outreach to business partners and stakeholders building capacity for banks with a primary mission of serving low- moderate-income communities.
Brian brings two decades of financial services leadership to CDBA. He joined the community development finance field in 2009 after several years in international investor relations. Prior to CDBA, he managed business planning, compliance, and regulatory relations for the Community Reinvestment Act program at a national money-center bank, served as the CRA officer at a large community bank, and for more than six years held senior roles at a Bronx-based CDFI as it emerged from its de novo period in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis.
Brian has served as a board member and adviser to a range of community financial institutions, including banks, credit unions, and loan funds, as well as nonprofit developers of affordable housing and economic-development organizations.
Brian holds an MBA from the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College - CUNY, and a bachelor's degree from Dickinson College. A New York City native, he lives with his family in Washington, D.C.
